Your location stays under your control

HangWashing is designed so that a visitor can check a forecast without creating an account or agreeing to personal history collection.

Forecast searches

Postcodes are used to find forecast coordinates and return the requested weather information. When current location is chosen, reduced-precision coordinates are used for weather lookup. Location memory is optional.

Remembering a location

If “Remember postcode/location” is selected, the postcode or reduced-precision location is stored on that device. Turning the option off removes that saved value. It is not required to use the forecast.

Optional accounts

Users may choose an account to sync saved locations and use account features. HangWashing does not receive the user’s Google password. Account information can be exported or deleted from the account controls.

Optional forecast history

Personal drying-score history is off by default and is recorded only after explicit consent. Users can withdraw that consent and delete their account data.

Service providers

HangWashing uses external services to locate UK postcodes, provide forecast data and operate secure authentication and hosting. The service does not use advertising trackers.
